Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, as she has served as an adjudicator for performance assessments, a mentor for pre-service teachers, and a guest clinician across the nation.

“My philosophy embraces the youth orchestra environment as a nurturing environment where every student feels valued and supported and challenged to press towards new musical achievements and excellence in meaningful ways. The conductor plays a critical role in fostering a sense of inclusivity, belonging, and mutual respect through collaboration, communication, and curiosity, allowing students to thrive academically and socially. Understanding the inherent uniqueness of each student is a cornerstone of my teaching philosophy. By understanding students’ strengths, interests, and areas for growth, pedagogical practices can be tailored to maximize learning outcomes for each student and the ensemble.”
